FREE SUMMER WORKSHOP
Nasakilak Theater's Free Summer Workshop is a community-driven program designed to inspire aspiring performers by providing accessible and comprehensive training in the performing arts. Open to individuals who are passionate about theater, the workshop offers participants the opportunity to develop their creativity, confidence, and stage presence under the guidance of experienced theater practitioners.
Throughout the program, participants take part in a series of interactive sessions covering the essential disciplines of theater. The workshop includes Basic Acting, where participants learn the fundamentals of character development, improvisation, and stage presence; Technical Acting, which introduces the practical aspects of stage production and performance techniques; Musical and Vocal Workshops, focused on voice projection, singing, and musical expression; and Dance Workshops, where participants explore movement, rhythm, and choreography to enhance their performance skills.
More than just a training program, the Free Summer Workshop embodies Nasakilak Theater's commitment to making theater education accessible to the community. By fostering creativity, collaboration, and self-expression, the workshop empowers participants to grow not only as performers but also as confident individuals, culminating in a showcase that celebrates their hard work, talent, and artistic journey.
One Act PLAY
Kwentablado: Apat na Kwento is a special one-act play showcase by Nasakilak Theater that celebrates the creativity, dedication, and growth of the participants of its Free Summer Workshop. After weeks of learning the fundamentals of acting, stage movement, voice, and performance, the workshop participants take center stage to demonstrate the skills and confidence they have developed through live theatrical performances.
The event features four compelling short plays, each offering a unique story and perspective. Audiences will experience "Talyer," written by Nilo Obrero Jr. and directed by Monark Pana; "Sakim na Pag-ibig," also written by Nilo Obrero Jr. and directed by Jozzel Navarro; "El Heredero," written by Jeffrey Tobason and directed by Edward Flores; and "Tinago nang Tinago," written by James Willy Canoso and directed by Louie Magbanua.
